Warsaw – the largest bus fleet in Europe
Solaris & MZA Warszawa

MZA Warsaw has the largest bus fleet in Europe with around 1,400 buses, serving almost 200 lines that wrap around the metropolis and carry millions of passengers every day. The carrier is among the European leaders in modern and environmentally friendly public transport and fort 10 years has been investing exclusively in low-emission and electric buses. Cooperation with Solaris dates back to 1997, and since then almost 1,350 Solaris buses have hit the streets of Poland’s capital city. Among them are as many as 163 Solaris Urbino electric buses

In February 2025, the operator placed another order for 50 articulated Solaris Urbino 18 electric buses.

Duisburg with Urbino hydrogen in the fleet
Solaris x DVG

Duisburg is a city that has been committed to environmentally-friendly public transport solutions for a long time now. This commitment is driven by the desire to innovate urban transport locally, but is also an important contribution to comply with the provisions of the Clean Vehicles Directive. The city has therefore decided to replace its entire fleet of combustion-engine buses with zero-emission vehicles by 2030. The carrier DVG has ordered a total of 25 hydrogen buses made by Solaris. 11 of them are 12-metre vehicles, the remaining ones are 18-metre articulated buses.

“By ordering the first 25 hydrogen buses, we are taking another important step towards making public transport in Duisburg completely emission-free and sustainable”

The first delivery of hydrogen buses to Poznan took place in 2023. At that time, the operator ordered 25 Solaris Urbino 12 hydrogen buses. In February 2025, has once again opted to invest in hydrogen technology. The public transport operator has signed a contract for the delivery of five new Solaris Urbino 12 hydrogen buses, immediately opting to expand the order by four additional vehicles. Currently, the company operates around 330 city buses, with zero-emission vehicles making up 25% of the fleet. Once the latest electric and hydrogen buses are delivered, this share will exceed 30%.

“Investing in our fleet is a priority for us, as it improves the comfort of public transport and reflects our commitment to environmental protection”
