HOW INVESTING IN A MODERN ELEVATED WORK PLATFORM SUPPORTS THE PRODUCTION OF ZERO-EMISSION BUSES 

In 2025, as many as 86% of the vehicles we produced were zero- and low-emission buses, and the number of new orders reached a record high. To meet growing demand, we are investing in people, processes, and technology. One of the most recent results of these efforts is the construction of a modern, 40-metre elevated work platform at our factory in Bolechowo.

The dynamic growth in demand for zero-emission vehicles across Europe is one of the main drivers behind the continuous improvement of our production lines. Over the past five years, the European market for battery-electric and hydrogen vehicles has grown fourfold, and in 2025, the majority of buses purchased by public transport operators produced no exhaust emissions at all. We see this trend reflected in our own production, where nearly 90% of vehicles are now zero-emission or hybrid buses.  

E-MOBILITY MAINLY ON THE ROOF 

In battery-electric and hydrogen vehicles, most of the key components are installed on the roof. Energy storage and charging system elements in electric buses, virtually the entire hydrogen system in fuel-cell vehicles, as well as drivetrain and onboard power supply components – all of these are placed on top of the bus, so that the interior space remains dedicated primarily to passengers. 

In 2025, we built a 40-metre elevated work platform that not only makes the installation of such components easier, but also significantly increases work efficiency. 

SAFER WORK AT HEIGHT 


The new platform has improved the working conditions of four crews simultaneously, while reducing the time required to install roof-mounted components. Assembly processes in other parts of the bus can now be carried out in parallel with work on the roof, which has considerably increased the pace of production. 

Thanks to a sliding mechanism, the platform extends as the bus drives in, then adjusts to the vehicle’s outline once it is in position. Workers access the roof via a staircase fitted with handrails. Our specialists no longer need to wear harnesses or helmets – the platform’s built-in safety features provide full protection during work at height. This investment has significantly improved worker safety, as well as enhancing their comfort and ergonomics during the assembly process.

Every year, our company invests in assembly and welding lines to ensure the production of the highest-quality vehicles that fully meet our customers’ expectations. The construction of the elevated work platform is one of the most recent examples of initiatives that translate directly into improved comfort and safety for our employees, as well as a more efficient bus production process overall.
