PREMIERE 2023: Solaris Urbino 18 electric
This year’s Solaris premiere unveils an articulated Urbino 18 electric bus featuring an enhanced design that brings significant advancements to the e-bus sector, providing a range of several hundred kilometers. It operates without CO2 emissions and generates minimal noise, ensuring safety and comfort for passengers and drivers alike, while granting operators increased flexibility and remarkable operational capabilities. This bus represents the future of modern high-quality public transportation.
New powertrain architecture and high-destiny batteries
Built on a new powertrain architecture and equipped with the latest generation of high-density batteries, the Urbino 18 electric is perfectly suited for handling urban routes throughout the day. It is distinguished by its new design, without a traditional engine tower, using a distributed powertrain with components located on the roof and in the rear of the bus. This innovative approach maximizes passenger space and configuration flexibility, allowing for versatile use of roof space. The new design, combined with high-efficiency batteries, advanced ADAS systems, and safety-enhancing solutions, defines the Urbino 18 electric. And all of this within the dynamic and modern design that Solaris is known for.
PORTFOLIO STAR: Solaris Urbino 18 hydrogen
The Urbino 18 hydrogen is a bus powered by state-of-the-art hydrogen technology, making its debut in 2022.
This highly advanced vehicle offers a long range with all the benefits of electric propulsion. At the heart of the Urbino 18 hydrogen is a hydrogen fuel cell that serves as a compact hydrogen power plant, converting hydrogen into electricity to drive the vehicle’s drivetrain. Thanks to hydrogen technology and the latest generation of lightweight hydrogen tanks, the vehicle is exceptionally well-suited for long-distance travel. Refueling the hydrogen tanks to full capacity takes approx 20 minutes, providing flexibility for transport operators.
The Urbino 18 hydrogen’s distinctive exterior design and comfortable interior, combined with its environmentally friendly powertrain, guarantee an exceptional travel experience for drivers and passengers alike in today’s bustling metropolises.
