#UITP2023
SUMMARY
The global UITP summits, the world’s largest organization associating representatives of the public transport industry, are an excellent platform for exchanging ideas with the entire community of experts, users of the sector and producers. This year, the host of the UITP Global Public Transport Summit was Barcelona, where on June 5-7, 2023, we presented our activities in a program combining debates, trade fair exhibition and expert speeches.
110 countries, 40,000 m², 2,500 delegates, 17,300 visitors. The UITP Public Transportation Summit is one of the most important events in the industry. The 64th edition was a gathering place for the entire world to showcase the latest technologies and strategies for sustainable transportation efforts.
About UITP
The International Association of Public Transport (UITP), french: Union Internationale des Transports Publics, has been dedicated to promoting public transportation since 1885. Solaris joined UITP as a member in 2001 and has actively participated in numerous projects within the association. Our representatives play an active role in various initiatives, such as serving as members of the Vehicle and Equipment Industry Committee as well as the Trolleybus Committee.
It’s extremely exciting to see our entire community working together for a zero-carbon future. Events like this make it possible to feel even more strongly that the green future of public transportation is in our hands.
Is how CEO Javier Iriarte summed up the few intense days of the Summit
The #UITP23 fair in Barcelona set the stage for Solaris’ flagship vehicle, the Urbino 12 electric.
The vehicle chosen to represent the company is a bus delivered to TMB Barcelona an operator that provides public transport services in the city hosting the summit. The choice of this particular bus was not a random one. It not only aligns with the prevailing trend of incorporating zero-emission vehicles into sustainable public transportation but also allows us to familiarize ourselves with a model that has proven to be highly successful among an increasing number of operators.
Expert speeches
Being at the forefront of electromobility in Europe, we also took advantage of the UITP Summit to share our extensive knowledge. This involved actively participating in panel discussions and delivering speeches during plenary sessions.
We would like to thank everyone who visited our booth for the extremely inspiring talks and meetings.
See you at the next UITP Summit in 2025,
this time in Hamburg.
