Urbino 12 electric
the most popular choice for electromobility
As one of the European leaders in electromobility, we have a deep understanding of the needs of operators and passengers. Our experience is reflected in the products we provide
– one of them is the 12-meter Urbino electric, the most popular model in our portfolio. This model produced and delivered to TMB Barcelona, was showcased during the recent UITP Summit.
This particular model has become a symbol of electromobility, combining innovative technology and reliability. The Solaris Urbino 12 electric is not only a popular electric bus but also represents a new era in public transportation. Its proven solutions and innovative features have convinced operators across Europe, demonstrating that electromobility is not just the future but already a reality.
The decision to choose this specific bus was not arbitrary. The Urbino 12 electric not only aligns with the current trend of zero-emission vehicles being an integral part of sustainable public transport but also allows operators to become familiar with this popular model.
UNLIMITED OPERATIONAL CAPABILITY: THE KEY TO SUCCESS
The vehicle produced for TMB Barcelona exemplifies a battery bus that offers the operator a convenient and all-day range. Such high operational capability of the electric vehicle is made possible by the optimal combination of bus equipment (modern and efficient batteries) with the specific urban infrastructure. Barcelona is a city that has successfully integrated charging stations into its urban infrastructure and enables buses to be charged during regular routes using pantographs.
EQUIPMENT
The drive unit is a 220 kW central engine. Energy is stored in Solaris High Energy batteries boasting a total capacity of over 400 kWh. They have been installed on the roof and in the rear of the bus. The vehicle can be charged either by means of a plug-in connector or via a pantograph. The maximum charging levels amount to 260 kW and 450 kW respectively. The bus on display can carry up to 77 passengers, including 21 seated.
FULL SUPPORT FOR SAFETY
According to the carrier’s specifications, the showcased model features a closed driver’s cabin with a lowering window. Additionally, the driver’s work is facilitated by a touch panel, and efficient air conditioning ensures passenger comfort. Onboard monitoring of the bus, including the vehicle’s roof, allows for observation of the pantograph’s operation. To enhance passenger convenience, USB sockets have been installed in the bus walls and handrails.
- MobilEye Shield+:A system that alerts the driver acoustically and through a display in the event of lane departure without proper signaling or failure to maintain a safe distance from the preceding vehicle, thereby indicating the risk of collision.
- MirrorEye:Cameras installed in place of the bus's rear-view mirrors, significantly expanding the field of view and improving the vehicle's aerodynamics.
